Anne Sorbie came to Canada with her family in 1973 when she was just entering her teens. Her parents settled their family in Calgary and Anne has lived there ever since. Her interests range from explorations of self in the context of trauma and in the realm of family, to place, to landscape, and to our current concerns with pandemic life in this turbulent world. She believes that what is happening now confirms and re-affirms the importance of poetry and of art. “For it is through images and the words that bring them to us,” she says, “that we come to make sense of the weird, the wonderful, the craziness, the discombobulated and! What we each must do to survive.”
