I was born in the small town of Gananoque, Ontario. It is the proper centre of the universe, but the universe seems to have lost its bearings in recent years. My first poem was composed at age four. It was about the cowboy life. I have since spent more time as an English prof than on the open range, but have, as an act of rebellion, continued to write and publish poetry. I am currently in the wilds of Toronto, married, with two children
